Uniontown, Alabama is a small town in Perry County, in the west-central part of the state. The town has a rich history, and in 1991, the Uniontown Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Uniontown Historic District encompasses much of the town’s central business district, as well as several residential areas. The district contains 179 historic buildings and structures, including homes, commercial buildings, churches, and public buildings. Many of the buildings date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and they reflect a variety of architectural styles popular during those periods.

The historic district of Uniontown includes several notable landmarks, such as the St. James Episcopal Church, built in 1840, and the First Baptist Church, constructed in 1893. Other important buildings in the district include the Perry County Courthouse, the Uniontown City Hall, and the Uniontown Public School, which was built in 1924 and is now used as a community center.
